BOBBY HAMILTON

Bobby Hamilton was born in Yonkers, NY, and raised in New York City. He attended Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY, and studied Theology at Colgate-Rochester Divinity School in Rochester, NY.

As a resident of Syracuse, NY, Mr. Hamilton hosted WCNY-TV’s “All American Jazz” series and Jazz Programming at WAER-FM88. He was a featured performer in a Jazz Concert presented by the Syracuse Symphony orchestra, and taught piano and music theory at the community arts school.

In 1981, Bobby Hamilton became a founding member of the Paul Robeson Performing Arts Company of Greater Syracuse, the area’s leading Afro-American Theater Group. In his capacity as company musical director, he directed several productions and contributed to the development of theatrical and musical talents within the membership of the organization. Mr. Hamilton was also quite active in the musical direction of the Salt City Performing Arts Company, as well as in productions at Syracuse Stage Professional Theater.

Bobby Hamilton organized his own Jazz Combo and traveled the NY area with working in lounges and performing in a variety of solo venues as well. In 1986, he went to work in the cruise industry and five star Hotels primarily as a Pianist-Entertainer. In this venue, Mr. Hamilton has traveled extensively throughout the world including the Middle and Far East. He is familiar with French and Spanish.

His repertoire of songs from Nat King Cole, to Frank Sinatra, Billy Joel, Fats Waller, and Louis Armstrong entertains people of all backgrounds. He is quite at home in Jazz and Blues venues as well, including R&B and Popular Music. Mr. Hamilton currently resides in Phoenix AZ and performs throughout the area. He returns often to the travel industry where his work as a pianist-entertainer remains in high demand.

Lately, Bobby has been freelancing as a solo artist playing for Senior Living Centers in the Greater Phoenix area and is a favorite for the many guests who love his music.
